Sketches & Doodles

Out of all the different kinds of Art I did, sketching and doodling takes up half of it. It is pretty obvious that I would doodle so much considering how boring school can be. I often find myself lost in my imaginative world of pencil and paper instead of paying attention to class (I still do good though). Usually, I like to draw characters from books, comics, movies, or my own creations. I love to create my own characters along with their hairstyle, fashion, personality, and backstory. Coming up with the design of fictional characters is the best way to pass time. I prefer a cartoon style of sketching as I am not very talented with realistic objects, especially with still art and portraits of people. Some day, I hope I could make my own comics with unique characters, settings, and plot. I have certainly improved at drawing people since I started paying close attention to the proportions of the face, and the positions of the five senses. Eyes are what I struggle with the most, and it doesn't help that they are the highlight of the face. In other words, if the eyes are out of proportion, everything else will look unnatural. Trust me, I speak from experience. In addition, another nightmare I have to endure is drawing hands as many fellow artists would agree. These spindly, disjointed body parts would be the death of me. Nonetheless, I practice in every moment possible and progress have been made. Now, the hands I draw no longer look like disfigured spider legs, but claw-like, which is better than nothing to say the least. Still, I have a long way to go if I want these hands to look normal. Next time, when boredom is driving you insane, grab a pencil and doodle away!
